Peace Oriental Teahouse S49 explores the quiet relationship between architecture and the ritual of tea. Conceived as a solid architectural volume with an open corner toward the exterior, the space creates a calm and contemplative atmosphere where the preparation and appreciation of tea become part of the architectural experience.
Material and detail are carefully orchestrated around the tea-making process. A finely crafted steel gutter and white stone drip surface sit between the wooden tea bar, while the curved glass corner creates a continuous visual connection between interior and exterior. Indirect light penetrates the space softly, revealing the textures of tea, wood, stone, and other carefully considered materials.
The project reflects SPACY’s exploration of the phenomena of architecture—where light, material, space, and human experience continuously interact. Rather than relying on excess, the architecture creates an atmosphere through subtle transitions, reflections, textures, and carefully framed views. Peace S49 reimagines space as an experiential identity, creating an environment that is quiet, distinctive, and resonant beyond the physical.
