Community for fruit lovers
City Fresh is an award-recognized transformation of an ordinary row house in Pridi Banomyong into a vibrant destination for fresh food, healthy living, and community. The project redefines the conventional grocery and dining experience, creating a place where people with shared interests can gather, exchange, and connect.
The architecture explores the phenomena between light, material, human experience, and space. Transparency, natural light, and layered surfaces create shifting frames, shadows, and perspectives, while a secondary skin of randomized openings gives the building a dynamic relationship with its surroundings. Greenery and fresh produce become part of this experience, allowing the restrained material palette to heighten their natural vibrancy.
Across its multiple levels, City Fresh brings together retail, dining, communal spaces, and a cooking studio, transforming a compact urban building into a fluid social environment. More than a physical transformation, the project explores how space can shape perception, interaction, and emotion—creating an experience that resonates beyond the physical.
